I'll Give You Keyword Rich Backlinks For Commenting

Creative Commons License photo credit: $arah Murray You want to rank high for certain keywords by embedding those keywords in the links you provide for your blog, but you don't want to come across as a spammer on the blogs you frequent. So most people put their name in the name field to avoid the spammer label, but for ranking purposes this leaves us ranking high for just our name. Unless you're really well known and people are searching on your name, it's not going to do you a whole lot of good in the search engine game. I want you, my readers, to gain good links and good rankings for the keywords you want. Success for you is success for me. But I want to see names and I don't want to see blatant keyword spamming. Fortunately, there's a new plugin to help solve this problem. It's called KeywordLuv. It allows you to put your name in the name field an @ symbol then your keywords. The result: your keywords get anchored to your blog's url after it. It's a win-win for both of us! You get those one way backlinks with targeted keywords and I get comments! Here's how it works: enter YourName@YourKeywords in the Name field, then write your comment as per normal. For example I might enter: "Steven Lohrenz@Online Business Automation" in the name field (without the quotes). "Online Business Automation" then is the anchor text for the link back to my blog and my name is displayed as Steven Lohrenz. I've enabled it and I recommend you start using it. I encourage all other blog owners to install this plugin so we can start sharing the luv… (sorry, couldn't resist)

Hi Stephen,
Thanks for pointing this out.
One thing - when I click on the url field it automatically jumps to the Email field - and I cannot paste this url in:

Hi Steven,

Cool tool… :-)

Mark,

I found the same problem you did… how I solved it was by holding down the left-click mouse button while typing my URL. A hassle, yes — but at least it worked!

Cheers,
Trevor

Thanks for the cool tool. I've just installed it on my blog as well. <5 minutes to do, but should help others out just as it does here. Next, I need to put a KeywordLuv reminder in like you have.

Arrgg… Not sure I like the captcha plugin, since it just killed my follow up post because I was in a hurry and mistook it for an ad (ie. I forgot to put something in).

Anyway, I forgot to mention in my last comment that there's another usefull plug-in for wordpress blogs that might be useful here and to others. It's called "Subscribe to Comments", and can be found here:
http://txfx.net/code/wordpress/subscribe-to-comments/

It allows people who comment the ability to simply check a box to get an email when comments are made to a post. It promotes interaction among all participants, as well as return visits to the blog.

Now, I've just got to remember to enter the captcha!

Thanks again for the recommendation.
-Tim

Wow this is a cool plug in. Others wanting to help out folks with links should consider this. Would make it a lot nicer for those of use just starting out.

Steven: Good ideas and a good plugin. I will add it too as I think every serious blogger should allow the link back. I use a solvable equation for my captcha, but this one is great too and more visual.

Thanks!
Rob

I wish all bloggers were as considerate as you. I often wonder why so many bloggers do not let readers use there keywords as there name because otherwise the backlink is really not being used to its fullest potential.

Hey Steven, it's bloggers like you that help make building backlinks a little easier. You should feel good knowing you're helping out the "little man"…lol.

"share the luv" very well said :) Thats a great movement to increase natural style of link popularity provided proper spamming measures are still taken care off.
Thanks!

Keywordluv rocks. A great way to appreciate commentators to comment and get rewarded with a backlink with a desired keyword.

This is a great plug in that benefits both bloggers and the people who comment their blogs. The bloggers are getting relevant discussion where the readers are getting a valuable backlink to their site.
