Tomorrow I am leaving on one of many planned mini-retirements like what Tim Ferris describes in his book 4-Hour Workweek. Yipee!

Here's what I did in order to prepare for this trip.

1. I made the decision to go and I booked the flights.
2. I quit my job.
3. I bought a notebook computer.
4. I packed.

I think the first item is the most important. We can always come up with excuses as to why we can't do something. For the most part, we over exaggerate them. (More on risk here.) What we really need to do is come up with reasons to do them. Will there be consequences? Of course, but so long as it doesn't kill you, you'll bounce back.

To counter the consequences, there are going to be benefits too!

Here are some things I'm looking forward to:

1. Seeing the sun.
2. Spending more time with my son.
3. Seeing the sun.
4. Spend lots of time with family and friends I don't get to see very often because I live in a different country.
5. Seeing the sun.

Needless to say, the past few weeks have been a little hectic. Even though we're going to Montana, which is in a first world country (for now), I don't know how much access I'm going to have to the Internet. So, I've loaded up a bunch of the blog posts and if I don't respond to you, I'll try to get to the comments when I can.
